SUPPORT ANDIE TO WIN A SCOLARSHIP
We are seeking your support for SMWFC player Andrea (Andie) to win a scholarship worth nearly $7,000 to attend an AFS 4 week soccer program in Brazil in September this year. She is very keen and excited about the possibility of going and it would be great if she was able to win the scholarship, which would cover almost all of her expenses for the trip.
As well her application to the program, as part of the scholarship selection criteria, each applicant must produce a short video and upload it on "You Tube" which demonstrates their soccer skills, shows creativity and originality and promotes the student exchange program organisation (AFS), with the aim of getting the most "hits" over the period until 30 July 2010.
We think that Andie has done a great job with her video entitled "WOMEN INVENTED SOCCER" , with the help of family and friends, and you can see it by clicking on the attached link below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esK95e2BlFg
WE THEREFORE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO VIEW THIS VIDEO AND ALSO FORWARD THIS LINK TO AT LEAST 10 OF YOUR CONTACTS WITH A SIMILAR INVITATION TO VIEW THE VIDEO AND ONFORWARD THE LINK TO AT LEAST 10 OF THEIR CONTACTS ETC.
We hope you enjoy watching it and are sure that Andie would be extremely appreciative of your support and this will certainly boost her chances of success with the scholarship!

Optus Small-Sided Football Laws of the game - email sent by Chris Arena from Football Federation Victoria:
"Dear OSSF clubs
A reminder to all coaches, game leaders and instructing referees of Optus Small-Sided Football participants U7’s – U11’s to please follow the national Laws during your fixture games. The Laws can be downloaded by clicking on the following link: http://www.smallsidedfootball.com.au/pdfs/2010/
We have had a number of reports particularly of Goalkeepers in the U11’s kicking the ball ‘AFL style’, which is not allowed. The Laws are in place to ensure an enjoyable participation environment for all involved and are specifically designed for the small-sided football landscape which encourages rapid player development.
Please ensure the nominated instructing referee has a copy of the laws on hand prior to commencing the start of any match and that this person understands and respects the laws.
Any questions regarding the laws of Optus Small-Sided Football should be addressed to FFV Game Development via email on gamedevelopment@footballfedvic.com.au
Any questions regarding OSSF fixtures, league structures or other competition matters should be addressed to FFV Competitions on competitions@footballfedvic.com.au. Regards."
